Looking After your Nova Box

Your Nova Boxes have been lovingly crafted to stand the test of time, and we've made sure that every velvet colour is only the highest quality we could find. That being said, before you start handling your Nova Box, there are a few things we recommend to ensure your heirloom ring box is perfect, each and every time you use it!

As you might have seen, our Heirloom velvet ring boxes come in a variety of colours, sizes and shapes. These items are handmade, and should be carefully looked after to ensure they remain as beautiful as they do when you receive them.

Avoid Excessive Heat

Velvet requires very particular care and attention to retain its beauty and shape, and so, please don't consider using any type of excessive heat such an an iron, steamer or other to restore the pile of your velvet ring boxes. Doing so can scorch the fabric.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

As with most items, you're going to want to avoid storing your Nova Box in direct sunlight. The reason for this - the sun is particularly strong and has been known to bleach colours. Placing your Nova Box in a spot where the sun doesn't quite reach it is going to ensure the colour you choose is kept as beautiful as when you first received it.

Try Not to get them Wet

Yeh, water is not going to be something you want near your velvet ring box. If you do happen to drop it into the sink, remove it from the water and blot it dry gently with a soft dish cloth to soak up the moisture. We wouldn't recommend taking a hair-dryer to them either, just leave somewhere safe and well ventilated to dry.

A Microfibre Cloth is Your Best Friend

We use dry microfibre cloths to simply brush the fabric in the direction of the pile. This means that any dust, lint or loose materials can be brushed gently out of the velvet without transferring any colour from the cloth.

In conclusion, whenever you're not staring at your beautiful Nova Box with serious heart eyes, pop it back into it's packing box so that it doesn't end up rattling around in one of your drawers. We love our Nova Boxes, and hope you will too! Be sure to share your Nova Box images with us on Instagram so that we can share them with the world.
